Master of Science in Strategic Management
You are here : MSc in Strategic Management > Curriculum
This module is designed to provide MSc students with a sound conceptual appreciation of the interaction between strategy, and organisational structure and dynamics. The conversion of strategic intent into sustainable competitive advantage is necessarily conditioned by the interaction of task definition, formal authority-responsibility relationships, informal structure, and individual motivation.
Clearly these key aspects of organisation design and organisational behaviour must be consistent with business strategy, itself ultimately in-tune with a dynamic competitive context.
The classic managerial priorities such as directing, coordination, leadership, and control will be presented and placed in their modern competitive dynamic where networking and new value-added partnerships blur the boundaries of the firm and dramatically alter decision processes.
This module will seek both to respect what is eternal in the strategic management of organisations and to sensitize students to the contemporary organisational responses to the imperatives of change.
