Master of Science in Strategic Management
You are here : MSc in Strategic Management > Curriculum
This course investigates the challenge of globalisation/adaptation that firms face when expanding abroad. It focuses on internationalisation strategies, modes of entry into new countries and the organisation of the international firm.
It complements other courses and disciplines related to strategic management, cross-cultural management and organizational behaviour, and the global environment of business (trade, finance, law, etc.). The focus is on the firm and the manager in an international context.
OBJECTIVES AND COURSE CONTENT
The fundamental objective of the course is to develop effective managerial and business leadership skills for dealing with the distinctive management problems that arise when firms do business across national borders.
International Strategic Management is about how firms become international and then exploit their international scope. We focus on firms of all sizes, from many countries, as they come to grips with an increasingly competitive global environment.
The two parts to this course bridge two main themes, the internationalization process and the management of multinational corporations.
