Curriculum - MSc in Strategic Management


The EDHEC Business School Master of Science programmes are one-year full-time programmes taught in English. Each programme is worth 90 ECTS credits.

Core Courses

Strategic Diagnosis and Decision Making
External/internal diagnosis, reviewing strategic decisions, integrating strategic diagnosis, strategic options, resources allocation.

International Strategic Management
Internationalisation of the firm and entry mode strategy, alliances, joints ventures and international strategy, globalization and local responsiveness, managing in complex organizations.

Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Disruptive Strategies
Characteristics of entrepreneurs, managerial aspects and business plan, innovations and corporate strategies, organizational design, subversive strategies.

Orgnisational Dimensions of Strategic Management
Designed to provide MSc students with a sound conceptual appreciation of the interaction between strategy, and organisational structure and dynamics.

Corporate Social Responsibility and Governance
Corporate social responsibility, control management, corporate governance, legal considerations.

Mergers and Acquisition and Restructuring Activities

Main issues associated with M&A integration and how to handle them, turnaround.

Macro context of business, interaction with strategic intent, real-life exercise in leadership and decision making.

Specialised Seminars

Cross Cultural Management
To explore culture in order to better comprehend its impact on modern economies.

Career Options in Strategy
To provide an overview of career options available to graduates in the EDHEC Master of Science in Strategic Management and training in advanced approaches to job search.

Economic, Accounting, and Financial Bases for Strategic Management
To ensure that students understand the economic logic and concepts driving business activity and are capable of reading and interpreting the key accounting and financial information related to doing business.

Research and Consulting
To develop research skills and consulting methodologies as viewed from the perspective of academic and industrial clients.
(each seminar is 15 hours, 2.5 ECTS per seminar)

Internship/Work Experience

3-6 months internship in France or abroad. The internship is required to provide participants with the opportunity to apply the theoretical course contents and to carry out a professional project in their chosen field of specialisation in order to further develop their acquired management skills.
(15 ECTS)

Master's Thesis

The thesis must integrate pertinent conceptual and theoretical elements and make use of a rigorous methodology to address issues relevant to the field of specialisation. A methodological seminar prepares participants to carry out this applied research.

The M.Sc. programmes are taught on the EDHEC campus in Nice. All EDHEC MSc courses are organized according to the following calendar:
