Graduate institution: SAA Business School, Turin, Italy. Currently working as a Consultant in ERP systems implementation, Business Reply, Italy

During the final period of my Master in Business Administration at SAA Business School in Turin, Italy, I based my search for a postgraduate education on the international partner institutions of SAA. EDHEC Business School was one of them, and after having gone through the various programmes on offer, I decided to apply for the Master of Science in Strategic Management. This decision was driven by different criteria, such as the courses being taught in English and covering different business areas that fitted well with my professional experiences in marketing, finance and project management. Other impressive facts were the reputation of the institution, the intercultural environment, the quality of education, working in international teams and the possibility of getting a degree from a foreign business school. Moreover, I wished to enhance my fluency in French, and Nice was just the perfect choice, having a good climate, beautiful landscapes and an interesting social life.

The period spent at EDHEC Business School was exceptional, both from educational and personal perspectives. The courses combined theoretical and practical approaches. Lecturers, consisting of an international faculty and visiting professors from European, Canadian and U.S. universities, introduced the topics and provided guidance on teamwork, case study analysis and presentations. The composition of working groups, with a view to combining experiences and insights from different countries added a lot of interesting elements to discussions: it is really impressive how the understanding of social context and the direct knowledge of consumer behaviour, for example, is crucial in the decision-making process. The international composition of groups is also a valuable chance to practise communication and intercultural negotiation skills, which are becoming of paramount importance in today's business environment. I also participated in a Business Plan competition organized by a local Business Angels institution. It was a really interesting experience to develop a project from the basic idea and to deal with all the issues involving start-up companies.

Even though the programme was intensive, I was able to participate actively in EDHEC organized social and sports events, giving me the opportunity to make a lot of new friends and talk with people about subjects other than business cases! I am still in contact with a lot of them, no matter which part of the globe they are in, and I am looking forward to meeting some of them in my future holidays.

I completed the programme with a final internship in Business Reply, a leading Italian IT and strategic consulting company, putting the knowledge gained at EDHEC into practice. This internship enabled me to get a permanent position within the company where I now work as a Consultant in ERP systems implementation.

Looking back on my EDHEC experience, I think it was the best decision for my professional career and an unforgettable moment in my personal life.
